I'm a writer and editor in the midst of reinventing myself. My kids grew up, I moved to Madrid, and I'm figuring out what comes next, with as much honesty and grace as I can manage.

I was born in San Francisco, raised in Piedmont, and spent decades making a life in Oakland. California runs deep in me. These days I'm learning what it means to be flung out into the world, navigating life as a foreigner.
